Monumental collection of Castle and Chateau in Jindřichův Hradec, declared as national cultural monument, belongs to the largest monumental complexes in Czech Republic. With the town closeby, is connected into a harmonical unit, which historical nature and uniqe architectural and artistic monument creates a town monumental reserve, declared already in year 1950.

In possession of feudal and governmental power, more than 3 houses changed ownership over the Chateau in 7 centuries. Lords of Hradec, Slavats and Černíns of Chudenice with their high political and social position were influencing the destiny of the whole country and adequate cultural environment had demonstrated itself in Castle and Chateau of Jindřichův Hradec, comperable with that time´s european architecture.

In years 1976 - 1993 the Castle and Chateau has undertaken a general reconstruction and in succesive steps was made available for public. There are three guided tours for visitors, divided by constructional steps. Interiors of the Castle and Chateau are often revived by theatrical performance, music concerts and other events, which are making it a significant cultural and social centre of today.
